EXT. COSI
ANGELA and her friend CAROL are sitting at one of the outside tables. Her friend is distraught and is whining over her latte. ANGELA is sympathetic but has dealt with Carol's situation before.
ANGELA
What did the jerk, I mean, your boyfriend, do now?
CAROL
You don’t know him when it’s good.
ANGELA
As far as I can see, it’s never good except when you’re blowin’ him, and then it’s good for him. Come on, how many excuses are you going to keep giving this weirdo? He doesn’t deserve you.
CAROL
But, we’re on a deadline. He’s got 6 months to leave her.
ANGELA
Six months? I thought his 6 months were up 6 months ago? Is this a new 6 months?
CAROL
Well, with everything going on his life right now with the new job, it didn’t seem fair...
ANGELA
Ugh! This is crazy. You can’t live like this for another 6 months! He’s never going to leave her.
CAROL
I believe he will. You should hear him. He says I’m the love of his life; that I make him feel like a man. That he sees his life with me. If I don’t have faith in him, who else will?
Angela shrugs slightly, has so comment. Takes a sip of chai.
CAROL (CONT’D)
How was rehearsal?
ANGELA
(Shurgs off the question.)
Eh. (pause as they sip) This dream I had last night... (She leans in conspiratorially, Carol leans in as well.) I’m having sex with this guy, I’m not sure who, he has brown hair and isn’t someone I’ve seen before. He’s on top of me and I’m in the middle of this buffet table.
CAROL
Buffet table?
ANGELA
Vegetarian, of course.
