CLASSES

Monologue Workshop with Carmen Lamar

(for kids 12-15)

Students will come in with a prepared monologue of their choice and receive direction, guidance, and feedback in a supportive environment. This is a great opportunity to master the techniques required to perform a monologue in an audition or performance setting. All students will leave with at least one other monologue, and suggestions for new ones. The class will focus on the High School Audition process with mock interviews, theatre exercises, cold readings, discussion with a panel of current performing arts students, and a private one on one monologue audition with Carmen and a team of industry professionals. Monologue work will include:

·       Understanding text

·       Personalizing and connecting with your piece(s)

·       Connecting with your audience

·       Auditioning do’s and don’ts

·       Staging your piece

·       Discussing the work
